Abstract

We can make a saccade to a memorized target position(memory-guided saccade) accurately, using an internal representation of the target position in the brain, which is formed by means of the retinal and extraretinal signals. In order to investigate the characteristics of the memory, especially those of deterioration depending on the memory period, accuracies of memory-guided saccades were measured and analyzed. The result suggests that accuracy and precision of memory-guided saccade appeared to deteriorate with different time courses.
