Description
On of the purposes for a next generation wireless LAN system is to realize a highspeed data transmission. A bandwidth given to the wireless LAN system is limited. Therefore, in a multi-cell environment, a throughput for system will be degraded due to interference from surrounding cells where the co-channel is used.In this paper, theoretical formula of the throughput for a wireless LAN system is shown, and a throughput performance is evaluated based on a OFDM system which is adopted as fundamental modulation waveform of IEEE802.11 standard. As a result, assuming 2.5 pass loss exponent, about 8.5 Mbps at-70dBm carrier sense threshold level is calculated as the maximum throughput of the OFDM system in the multi-cell environment.
