Description
On the orbital of satelites, space environment is an air mass zero and the pressure is from 10^-7> to 10^-12> Torr.It may give satelites some problem that outgass from materials when exposed to the space environmemt is condenced and deposited on surfaces of sensors or parts. ASTM-E595-90 covers a screening technique to determine volatile content of materials when exposed to a vacuum environment. An outgassing round robin testing was hosted by ASTM E-21 commitee among 14 organizations in the world.Followings were observed: (1) Iinterlaboratory agreement was the best of any round robin, (2) Our results had fine agreeent to the averaged value of all, and (3) Difference in Total Mass Loss value depends on the result of different lots in same material.
