Description

This paper describes behavior of beam - column that was made of a cold - rolled steel square tube under proportionally varying axial and lateral loads. Main findings were as follows. 1) Width-thickness ratio (B/t) is a big factor of ruling ultimate strength. 2) Axial force - shear force ratio doesn't have influence on the ultimate strength. We paid attention to the hysteresis of strain and stress at the bottom of the column. We calculated the stress hysteresis from strain hysteresis and found that the bottom of the column is under the influence of being restrained by the diaphragm.
