Description

We are studying ABR(Available Bit Rate) rate control method which has a capability of high quality and high statistical multiplexing transferring the bursty data traffic. We have studied the Max-Min method which is one of the ABR control methods. In this paper, we describe the week points of Max-Min method and we propose two ABR rate control methods named AC(Adjustable Ceiling) and LBERC(Load Based Explicit Rate Control) which can improve the weak points of Max-Min. These two ABR rate control methods are evaluated by using computer simulation in this paper.
