Abstract
Russia has been promoting its "Pivot to the East" policy in recent years. Infrastructure development in the Far East is one of its priorities. According to statistics of port cargo turnover in Russia, the Far Eastern Basin's share in the country increased from 17.6% (2008) to 25.4% (2019). In particular, the share increase of "coal and coke" handled in the Far East has been remarkable. In light of these freight transport trends, one can understand that the Russia's "Pivot to the East" is achieving real results.
