Description
Plastic deformation of N-free and N-added Co-(20-33)Cr-5Mo was examined through microstructural changes. SEM and XRD analysis were carried out against the tensile specimens before and after tensile tests. XRD analyses revealed that peak intensity from the ε phase in the N-added Co-33Cr-5Mo was lower than those from the other alloys irrespective of showing large elongation, suggesting that the other deformation mechanisms as well as strain-induced martensitic transformation could work in the N-added Co-33Cr-5Mo.
