説明
Rail squat caused by rolling contact fatigue is a deadly rail damage that can lead to rail broken. A number of research and investigation on the rail squats have carried out, and have clarified that the preventative grinding on rail could restrain effectively the growth of rail squats. However, the relationship of the process of crack growth and the actual wheel/rail interaction force has not been well known. The growth processes of rail squats have been investigated with the variation of seasons, and also the measurement of the track dynamic behavior have been performed. Compared with the track sites where defects already existed or otherwise, it was conclusive that the occurrence site of rail squats had larger wheel load and more obvious variation of wheel load. The results from the field investigation and the track dynamic behavior will be helpful for the modeling of rail squat and the track maintenance.
