Description
When we analyzed the tempotral pattern of firing frequency of neuron, we can not use the least square erorr method to estimate the degree of fittng with a proposal temporal pattern, because the variance of data is not constant in each time in the case the spike firing processes obey the binominal distribution. We have studied the firing properties of neuron in monkeys. Spike firings in each time really obey a binominal distribution. So we should use the generalized linear model and maximum-likelihood estimation to estimate the goodness of the model fit. A generalized linear model was applied to objectively estimate the degree of fit of the model even in the case of a low firing rate.
