Description

Different concentration of MMA, EMA, BMA, HEMA and HPMA were prepared then stable clone cells, that were transfected by anti-oxidant responsive element (ARE)-luciferase reporter vector, were exposed to each monomer. Luciferase reporter assay showed that polar molecule monomers stimulated ARE activity in lower concentration than nonpolar monomers at the beginning, then after, nonpolar monomers rapidly raised ARE activity in remarkably high rate. Time dependent ARE activity curves were differed according to the structural difference of monomers. It is suggested that this system will be useful to evaluate the detoxication metabolism of inner cells, and may attribute to develop new monomers applicable in dentistry.
