Description
It was tried to manufacture the catalyst carrier which was composed of the cordierite ceramic honeycomb. This catalyst carrier is usable at the high temperature range to 1300℃, because of its high heat resistance, high thermal shock resistance, high chemical resistivity and high mechanical strength. Two types of the cordierite ceramic honeycomb were produced, one was composed of the preferred grain-oriented cordierite, indicating the anisotropic thermal expansion, and the other was composed of the random grain-oriented cordierite, indicating the isotropic thermal expansion.The ceramic honeycomb was formed by the extrusion pressing before firing, and then fired at 1250℃.
