A big earthquake in ll85 caused a great damege to Kyoto. The earthquake gave the people in those days such a shock as to change their sense of values and their view of lives. "Yashiro-bon-Helke-Monogatarl" and "Kakurchi-bon-Heike-Monogatarl" describe this earthquake from respective points of view. The aim of this study is to make clear the literary characteristics of these two books by analyzing those different points of view.
