Description
The "e-Care Project" aimed that elderly people and their family can share "common atmospheres" and they are offered secure feeling eac other. A Communication between elderly people and their family is held experimentally using sensor devices and "micronodes", which helped them to have both feelings of "watching closely" and "being watched closely" To carry out this experiment, the e-Care Project made a formation with not only elderly people who need nursing care at home and their family, but also care staff, doctors and nurses. This paper describes the computing environment for simple communication based on IPv6 (Internet Protocol version 6) and IPsec, and micronode used for their communication devices. And experimental trial held between Dec 2002 and Mar 2003 is also described with its features and results. For the experimental trial, 25 family were targeted.
