This paper is concerned with the estimator of failure probability used the optimal sampling density based on importance sampling method in two-dimension problems. Failure probability estimates by using the importance sampling method based on the conditional expectation. Small samples generated from the conditional expectation approach are used to construct the density estimator of the optimal importance sampling density. Samples generarted from it are used to estimate the probability of failure. Low cov in the estimate of the probability of failure is presented.
