Description
This study deals with the optimization of a swirler that will be attached to the flow injecting slot of the casing of a turbine stage. The purpose of the swirler is to make the exit flow from the slot being oriented towards a certain direction which is considered to create a beneficial flow situation to the turbine nozzle aerodynamic performance. Multi-Objective Genetic Algorithm (MOGA) is developed and applied to the swirler design. Three-dimensional flow analyses and flow visualization have demonstrated the validity of the optimization process of this study.
