Description
This paper clarifies the conditions required to creat access network architectures, such as FTTC, FTTF, FTTH, economically by use of various types of ONU, in the PDS optical access network. This condition are as follows : ・A point-multipoint transport protocol in order to reduce the cost for each customer ・A system architecture that provides a path of 64kbit/s×n corresponding flexibly to the various services ・Flexibility in changing the transport capacity to ensure efficient use. To achieve these, we are introducing the TDMA protocol suited to the PDS system. This papor outline the commercial system created based on the proposed methods, and evaluates the following performance factors. ・Activation time ・Synchronization recovery time in case of detecting a transmission error ・Time to change the assigned bandwidth, etc.
