Description
A sign language is an important means of communications for the deaf. The world has been more interested in it.Ordinary people learn the signs by going to a sign language course or to a sign language circle,by a TV program or by some books. We have been developing a sign learning system using a personal computer which would help them.In our system,we have produced some 3D animations which would help the sign learners to understand the sign articulations. We report our research on the conventional methods of sign learning, and examine how to apply our 3D animations for the sign learning systems. We also report the result of an experiment in which the signs by 3D animations were represented to the twenty deaf and non-deaf informants who were asked to evaluate them.
