Description
A photonic data conversion device will be usefull for future optical network between backbone and end-user networks. We study a all optical data figure conversion device that is an optical monostable multi-vibrator lasser-diode (MM-LD). The MM-LD is the multiple electrodes DFB laser diode, which have gain- and saturable absroption-regions. This laser switch easily change the data figure from short pulse to rectangular, and amplified the average power. The device also suppress the signal spectral width and peak level fluctuations. In this paper, we report the high repetitious 10 Gbit/s pulse conversion and signal transmission through 1.3 μm-〓-dispersion fibers.
