Description
Electric power utilities have microwave radio communication systems for stable electric power supply. A digital microwave circuit equipped with plane reflectors as a passive repeater connecting Honbetsu and Rikubetsu stations has been operated to carry data of power transmission line voltage and current since 1988. In summers the circuit sometimes suffered outages even when the received power was not severely low. This report shows that a mountain-ridge diffracted wave caused multipath interference with the passive-repeater circuit.
