Description
On wireless multi-cast communications, propagation condition for mobile terminals(MTs)are different each other. Though it is possible to guarantee communication quality to all MTs by retransmission control, it will degrade the system throughput performance. In this paper, we have proposed a new wireless multi-casting scheme that improves system throughput performance by focusing OFDM space combining transmission diversity effect on poor quality terminals. On our proposal, a base station classifies each terminal's communication quality by monitoring the condition on the up-link. In addition, to supply the diversity gain to the MTs with poor channels as much as possible, we have defined evaluation functions with parameters of received signal levels from the MTs. The base station selects an antenna according to the evaluation function valus carrier-by-carrier. We have also evaluated the performance of the proposed scheme by referring its unsuccessful transmission probability, and computer simulation results show that the proposed scheme is effective for the multi-cast communication.
