説明
The initial skin temperatures of finger or toes differ from each other in the origenal Akabane methods. In this experient, the initial skin temperature was previously set at the constant value. The purpose of this experiment was to evaluate the effects of Akabane treatment on the lateral difference of pain thresholds measured with this new method. Eleven students, 4 males and 7 females, were served as subjects. The pain threshold to the heat stimulus, presented to 24 areas on both side of 12 Well Points at the end of fingers or toes, was measured with Kudo Electronic Co., PAIN ANALYZER,Model NYT-9002. The threshold was indexed by the time delay from the onset of heat stimulation to pressing a key(RT ; reaction time). The stimulated area was preheated at 36.0℃ in all. The order of measurment between fingers or toes were the one of the original methods in clinical usage. When the RT on given area is twice longer than that on the another side, we regard the areas large defference. The treatments were sutimulated the Back Shu Points to the large diffrence of right and left pain threshold by the intracutaneous needle. Ten out of 11 subjects were treated. The total number of laterally different areas were 17 meridians, for fingers and only 2 for toes. As the effect of treatment, for 18 out of these 19 meridians, the lateral difference was disappeared. No effect was found in one meridian. This result suggests that the treatment is effective and the original Akabane Methods in clinical usage is valid.
