説明

Generally, when substances in urine are analyzed quantitatively, 24 hours specimens are used, but it is very hard to collect urine during 24 hours from a healthy man except under special conditions. As a result of this study, it is considered that the hydroxyproline : creatinine ratio in random specimens may be representative of the ratio in 24 hours specimens. From the viewpoint of public health, this knowledge may be very useful in evaluating hydroxyproline excretion, particularly in numerous non-hospitalized individuals for whom collection of 24 hours specimens is virtually impossible.
