Description
This paper presents an even-driven mechanism as a general computational model for implementing multi-agent systems on Prolog. Our aim is to widen the applicability of logic programming to develop multi-agent systems which require distributed problem solving on separate workstations to communicate over the network. The even-driven mechanism contributes to make effective communication among agents. By using the even-driven mechanism we can easily realize a distributed inference mechanism of the production system KORE/IE on Prolog. We describes the internal mechanism and its applications to see how flexibly and effectively the even-driven mechanism can be used.
