Description
A popular battery charger is consisted of a conventional rectifier circuit, however, the conventional rectifier apparatus has such the several drawbacks as high harmonic distortion in power electricity, poor power factor and also heavy in weight. To improve these drawbacks, it is reported in this paper that the novel design method using SMR (Swithched Mode Rectifier)-circuit-technique is applied to the battery charger which is installed in 1L class electric behicles. The designed circuit is simulated by PSPICE. The results of the simulation fully satisfy the sever specification of the charger. It was found that the design method is applied to general rectifier circuits.
