Description
Analyses and experiments of the dynamic characteristics of a buck-type switching regulator empolying the phase compensator in the voltage feedback circuit and the load current feedforward are presented. The initial transient voltage appeared on the output caused by the load variation cannot be well suppressed only by the voltage feedback having phase compensator. The load current feedforward reduces this transient voltage effectively under optimum values of feedsfoward parameters. The quantitative analysis has been carried out to provide the optimum parameter in the feedforward circuit and to show the condition of the control limit due to the saturation characteristics of the PWM.
