Description
We developed an ATM loop network system for audio and video transmission.In the system,constant bitrate video and audio signals are transmitted using AAL type 1,while control data is transmitted using AAL type 5.We introduced an ATM medium access control method by a frame-reset window control mechanism which has a sufficient performance for AV networks.We made a 3-node experimental network system and found that the system performed well for 1.5 Mb, s MPEG video and 114 Mb/s PCM NTSC video signals.
