In the last ten years, many dentists have believed that treatments by dental implants were safe and reliable. At the same time, many technical devices and methods were developed especially for surgical techniques. That is, fixture design, sinus lift, GBR, distraction etc. However, superstructures have also been highly developed inconspicuously. The purpose of these series of review papers is to introduce recent advancement of dental implants. In this paper, many types of abutments of superstructures were introduced and their merits and demerits were discussed from the viewpoint of esthetics and oral function.
