Description

The thyreoidea ima artery in 91 human (male, 44; female, 47) cadavers aged 61 to 92 years was during a dissection practice class for students at Fukuoka Dental College. The threoidea ima artery occurred in 17 (18.68±4.09%) of the human cadavers. In one case, the double ima originated from the brachiocephalic trunk and left common carotid artery. In one case, the threoidea ima artery arose from the internal thoracic artery. In the other 15 cases, it occurred as a single vessel, and arose from the anteromedial wall of the brachiocephalic trunk.
