Description
If a new, superior keyboard arrangement is to replace widely used one such as QWERTY, interferences between the new and the old arrangements must be minimal. Otherwise people will not invest time and effort for the allegedly superior one. This paper presents preliminary results of an experiment for revealing the nature of the interferences that occur to skilled typing of QWERTY when the typist practices Dvorak or NEC's Kaisoku keyboard arrangement.
