Description
To understand the function of neurons,a microelectrode method has traditionally been used. However, this method is difficult to grasp dynamically the activities of neural networks.Recently an optical measuring method which can measure the dynamic flow of neuronal excitations has been focused. Therefore,we have deviced a multi-channel optical measuring system which used 25 photodiodes. Using this system,we tried to measure,in vivo, the activities of neurons in the somatosensory area of the rat′s cortex, and to inves tigate the somatotopic representation in the area.
