Description
This study has been made for the purpose of investigating transiting condition of root components of two varieties of sugar beet plant, GW 443 and KW-AA, sowed on the first day of each month from January to December of 1961. In this district, sugar-content of root is increased in summer and winter. In summer, the growth of sugar beet is restricted and water content is reduced, depending on the high temperature and dry weather (Brix : about 20%, Root Pol : 17-19%, Purity : 85-90%, Marc : 3-4%). Thereafter, the sugar content is decreased. In winter, an accumulating ability of sugar in root is increased, depending on the nature of sugar beet itself (Brix : about 25%, Root Pol : 17-20%, Purity : 80-88%, Marc : 6-8%).
