説明

By column chromatography on DEAE-Sephadex described in the previous papers, tRNA's specific for a certain amino acid were resolved into multiple components. The valine I, II and III tRNA's were shown to be structurally different from a difference in the chromatographic behavior of their valine bound terminal oligonucleotides formed by RNase T1 [EC 2.7.7.26] digestion. The phenylalanine I and II tRNA's could not be distinguished by this method, and this probably indicates a difference in the internal structure. The chain length of the terminal oligonucleotides from valine, phenylalanine and serine tRNA's was estimated. It was suggested from these and some other results that the separation into multiple components of a specific tRNA by our chromatographic techniques were not due to any artifact caused by the chromatographic conditions employed.
