Description

A 74-year-old male patient was admitted to our hospital because of upper abdominal pain. Causes of abdominal pain could not be elucidated in spite of several examinations. However, destructive changes of the 6th thoracic spine was disclosed in lateral view of chest roentgenogram taken on four months later and it was suspected to be metastatic bone lesion related to abdominal pain. In autopsy, primary squamous cell carcinoma of the lung with thoracic spine metastases was confirmed. When disease caused abdominal pain could not be found in the intra-abdominal organs, it should be recommended to take X-ray examination and CT scan of the spine, liquar examination and so on.
