説明
Interaction between host and normal bacterial flora in the intestines has been studied by comparing various responses of germfree and gnotobiotic mice. As morphological responses, micro-circulation and movement of villi were observed by cinematographic technics following bacterial infection. As biochemical responses, synergistic mechanisms with antibodies and bile acids in rejection of the pathogen were studied in vivo. As immunological responses, mechanisms for the onset of hypersensitivity were analysed by germfree technics. From these experiments, it was presumed that bacterial flora have a marked influence on the host in several ways and modify the host's inherent characteristics.
