説明

The 50Hz MS9001E industrial gas turbine incorporates technological and reliability features of the 60Hz MS7001E machine. These two designs represent a family which is related by direct aerodynamic and mechanical scaling in order to retain product and performance uniformity between the designs. As experience has been accrued on the MS7001E and as technological advances have been realized, it has been possible to uprate this design by carefully considered design changes. To this end several recent developments have been brought to a point of readiness for introduction into the MS7001E product offering, and then subsequently into the MS9001E offering. These changes will have the net effect of increasing the output by about 3% while maintaining or decreasing heat rate. Additionally, transition piece improvements are being implemented to extend maintenance intervals and control and sensor improvements will be incorporated with the goal of a ten-fold improvement in reliability on a forced outage basis. This paper discusses the modifications being made to the MS7001E machine, the technical basis for these changes, and the application of advanced computer techniques which are being applied during these developments. Additionally, this paper discusses the initial MS9001E prototype test results and the extension of the MS7001E developments into the MS9001E product.
