Description
The employment of a block demodulator in low earth-orbital(LEO) satellite communication systems with large Doppler shift is considered. The many of the former works on this type of demodulator, only assume a small frequency ambiguity. We thus propose a new frequency estimation/compensation scheme which is valid for the large frequency shift. The residual frequency error after the compensation is evaluated by computational simulation and the superiority of this scheme over a conventional FFT method is shown. The bit error rate performance is also shown with the phase estimator which we have proposed before, and the good performance is confirmed.
