Description

The automated highway system project and its technical feasibility demonstration held in San Diego, CA. in August, 1997 are introduced. The project was started by ISTEA enacted in 1991, and precursor systems analyses were conducted for one year since the autumn of 1993. The National Automated Highway Consortium was established to hold workshops on AHS, and to make the demonstration '97.
