Description

Current status of development for future television broadcasting systems are described.Hi-Vision broadcasting has already been started in Japan.In the United States,digital terrestrial broadcasting system will be standerdized in the future.It is not clear in Europe.MPEG-II is now in the stage of system freezing. Some important current technical topics and technologies are also described.Some important technologies are DCF,Hybrid DCT coding,error correction coding,coded modulation,improvement of MUSE system and so on. Some possible requirements for VLSI development are also stated.
