Description
Image resolution conversion is a process of converting an image with a given number of pixels into another one with different number of pixels. In this work, we consider proposed DCT-domain resolution conversion methods, which are used in image minification or magnification. These methods can be classified into two types. In the methods of one type, resolution conversions need more process on the decoder because a size of inversed DCT differs from that of DCT. The methods of the other type, using inversed DCT whose size is equal to that of DCT, have realizable utilities. In this work, we give the time-domain equivalent representations of the latter methods. Furthermore, we extend the methods to the generalized forms which can perform the resolution conversions directly in DCT-domain.
