Description
We studied the loss spectrum of a phase-shifted long-period fiber grating theoretically to which an arbitrary phase-shift was introduced at a certain positon in the grating. We also carried out experiments to investigate the loss spectra of phase-shifted long-period fiber gratings. Using a phase-shifted long-period fiber grating, we realize a ultra-gain-flattened erbium doped fiber amplifier whose gain flatness is less than 0.2dB over a 24nm bandwidth.
