Description
The effect of solidification rate on the microstructure and the physical property in a PdCu-xAg alloy was investigated using SEM, a Vickers micro-hardness test, XRD, and polarization curve resistivity. The alloys were cast in the mold of 22℃. The hardness of the PdCu-10Ag alloy which was heat-treated at 400℃ for 15min became higher (250:Hv) than that of the cast state. The hardening of the alloy could be explained by both the precipitation of Ag-rich solid solution and the formation of the PdCu ordered phase.
