Description
This paper investigates a novel local transformation for LIFS image coding scheme.The transformation is composed of Gram-Schmidt orthogonalization and extended condensation transformations which we studied previously.The system performance of LIFS image coding scheme is significantly improved by introducing this transformation.It is shown that this scheme performs better than JPEG for a wide range of compression ratio.
