Description
Authors already reported a ladder-type SAW filter using one-port SAW resonators. This report describes the detailed features of a ladder-type SAW filter comparing the conventional IIDT-type SAW filter. From experimental comparison, 5 features which are superior to the IIDT filters are found. Furthermore, the study on making the band-width wide is described for the ladder type SAW filters. Conventionally, it is difficult for a ladder type SAW filter to make the band width wider than 3% in fractional bandwidth, because of the limit of electromechanical coupling facotor. Then, we studied on methods to increase fractional band width using inductance (L), and adjusting a frequency interval between a anti-resonant frequency of shunt-arm resonator and a resonant frequency of series-arm resonator.
