Description

This paper describes theoretical and experimental results for propagating characteristics change in a shear horizontal surface acoustic wave(SH-SAW)between viscoelastic fluid, solid interface. In the numerical calculation we represented viscoelastic fluid as Maxwell and Voigt models.The results show that the differences between the models have been appeared in particle displacement profiles.We derived the approximate equations for Maxwell model based on perturbation theory and compared it with rigorous solution based on numerical calculations.The results indicates that the perturbation theory can not be applied for viscoelastic fluid.Further,those theoretical results were discussed by way of comparison with the experimental results employing SH-SAW devices fabricated on 36YX LiTaO_3 and X148LiTaO_3 using glycerol/water mixture.
