Description

This paper describes a wavelength-routing network employed optical add-drop multiplexer(optical ADM)and automatic-optical- frequencies-control(optical AFC)utilizing optical FDM technologies. The presented approach is relies on the coupler-based ADM circuits for a reasonable Cost, and centralized optical AFC to allocate and stabilize each frequency located at different nodes.20GHz-spaced, 622Mbit, s six-wavelength routing network has been expedmentally studied, and maximum numbdr of nodes has been estimated to be 40 at 2.5Gbit/s taking EDFA performances into account. We also discussed a master-slave control method using fiber-grating.
