Abstract

The purpose of this study is to clarify how civil society organizations are increasing the place for social inclusion in the area. This issue was addressed based on the case of "Plat home" (Yamagata City, 2003-19), which is a practice of "making a place" in a local city. As a result, it became clear that they increased the "place for inclusion" in the following ways: In the local area where resources and opportunities for support are scarce, reading "places for inclusion" in the various things, spaces, and histories of the area and interpreting them as "places for us." In this way, many different "places" were achieved. This is another path to "right to the city," which is different from what capital does in the form of a consumer society.
