Description
This talk presents a review on amateur radio (or ham radio) concerning to the progress of radio communication. For the first, the history of frequency resource development in HF (short wave) and the roles played by radio amateurs are described. Next, frequency allocation for the amateur service prescribed in ITU RR (radio regulations) and the presence in ITU are commented concerning to the above-described frequency development of the HF band by radio amateurs. Finally, socail contribution that has been made by amateurs other than technology issue is shown, and their roles hereafter expected are described.
