Description
An optical current sensor based on the Faraday effect has been developed with the flint glass fiber which has extremely small stress-optic coefficient. For the usual optical current sensor, there was a problem that the measurement accuracy was reduced by the vibration. To solve this problem, the flint glass fiber was inserted into the metal tube with the silicone gel. It was confirmed that there is no influence of the magnetic shield by the metal tube on sensing. Our new optical current sensor satisfies the JEC-1201 standard.
