Description
ICAO (International Civil Aviation Organization) aims to use GNSS (Global Navigation Satellite System) as a navigation system based on the FANS (Future Air Navigation System) concept. FAA (Federal Aviation Administration) and some other organizations have projects to introduce GPS augmentation systems called Wide Area Augmentation System. Japan also plans to introduce WNAS (Wide area Navigation Augmentation System) using MTSAT (Multi-functional Transport SATellite). Electronic Navigation Research Institute is building the GNSS test system to develop techniques for WNAS, collect data, and evaluate these. This paper outlines those techniques and the test system. Some analyses for GPS position and clock error estimation, and fundamentals for ionospheric and toropospheric delay estimation are also included.
