Description
A telop extraction method for content-based video data retrieval was described. It consists of the following two steps. (1) Detecting a telop appearing frame from video data based on temporal and spatial intensity variance, and (2) Segmenting telop from the telop appering frame based on color, position, scale, and temporal movement information of telop. Experiments using real video data showed the proposed method was quite promising for detecting telop appearing and disappering frames, segmenting telop with high intensity contrast, and reconstructing telop with weak contrast.
